Local Theatre Update

This evening our guest was Liz Widdowson from the Maltings Art Theatre who gave us an update on local happenings.


Herts Jazz Club – Derek Nash’s Picante

Derek Nash – Saxes, Dominic Ashworth – Guitar, Neil Angilley – Piano, Andy Staples – Bass, Marc Cecil – Drums, Robin Jones – Percussion

Picante is a hugely enjoyable Latin band fronted by Derek Nash (featured saxophonist with the Jools Holland R&B Orchestra and Sax Appeal) and Dominic Ashworth (British Jazz award-winning guitarist).



Folk – Solasta, Steve Warner & Ellie McCann

Solasta is a dynamic young trio made up of Scottish fiddler Elisabeth Flett, Welsh cellist Hannah Thomas and English guitarist Jamie Leeming. They are rapidly making a name for themselves, with performances at major festivals and featuring regularly on folk radio shows and podcasts.


MACBETH

Returning home from a bloody civil war, the victorious Macbeth meets three witches on the heath. Driven by their disturbing prophecies, he sets out on the path to murder.
