On the Drivetime Session with Robbyn and Emily @HellsBellesRG

Roller Derby is athletic and it's on quad roller skates. This originates from  America, roller derby appeared in the UK in 2006. Hertfordshire Roller Derby is the county’s first Roller Derby league. They have a game coming up on the 9th of April at 10.30 am and it is based in Hemel Hempstead, they will be having cakes, tea and a raffle. Ticket Prices are £10 online and for under 12s it will be free.
A game consists of 2 x 30 minute Periods. Each period is made up of lots of mini games that are called ‘jams’. The jammer is to skate through both teams of blockers as quickly as they can. Once a jammer has passed through the pack of blockers, they sprint around the track to lap the pack and then make their way through them again. At the end of the 60 minutes, the team with the most points wins.
