Simon Marshall and Ray Saunders w/Community First Responders @bedshertscfrs

Our first guests on today's Drivetime show were Simon Marshall and Ray Saunders from Community First Responders, Volunteers with the local ambulance service who attend life threatening 999 calls to help out.

Simon recruits and trains new Responders, while supporting those currently out there, and Ray is a retired volunteer and has been helping out the Responders for 5 Years this coming august.

The Responders are hoping to attract new volunteers for the upcoming National Volunteers Week, using the '#cfrtakeoverweek' hashtag.

Anyone aged 18 and up with a car can help out with no medical experience required, and a drop in open evening will be held tomorrow night from 6pm to 8pm at Luton Ambulance Station.

You can visit http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/what-we-do/community-first-responders.aspx for more details on how to Voulnteer, or contact the First Responders via email: responderadmin@eastamb.nhs.uk

Ray is also available for talks on the CFR work in the St Alban's area, you can contact him for more details: Ray Saunders, 07702749121
