On todays Thursday Drivetime Show, we were joined by St Albans Shakespeare Festival director David Widdowson. Running from March to June, the festival celebrates Shakespeare's legacy through a variety of art forms such as theatrical performances, folk music, solo singing and dance!
Covering some of Shakespeare's best known plays such as a re-enactment of the Tempest, production of Hamlet and readings of his sonnets, the event will be hosted by OVO theatre.
Taking in all 37 Shakespeare plays (and his poems) in some form, comprising 31 performances by 14 different artists and companies in a dozen locations across the city, the festival will be marking the 400th anniversary of the death of the most famous playwright, William Shakespeare.
You can find out more information of the event via St Albans Shakespeare Festival website and tickets are available for the productions within the festival via OVO ticket source.
