The start of a new regular feature for the Drivetime Show, Health Matters, was introduced this evening with Alan Bellinger. Health Matters will appear on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5:30pm, with various topics of discussion based around health and well-being.
Alan explained how to many people, health doesn't matter unless we fall ill. However, he stated that if we do the right things to help ourselves, we can reduce the probability of becoming unwell, which is the reason for why health should matter all the time!
One topic raised for this month's Health Matters was the thorny issue of patient records breaching confidentiality, for which online pharmacy Pharmacy2U has recently been fined £130K, due to the leaking of records. More information about this can be found here.
Another topic raised was National Self Care week, which is from Monday 16th - Sunday 22nd November 2015. Alan spoke about some of the self care techniques that we can use to help ourselves and you can find more information about that via the Self Care Forum.
Finally, Alan mentioned the St Albans and Harpenden Patient Group. They are holding an event on 25th November regarding West Herts Hospitals in Special Measures. More details about the event can be found here.
