A very sparkly Gwendoline joined us in the studio this afternoon to share with us the latest trends for your home at Christmastime.
GOLD! is on trend. There are lots of gold accessories...lamps, baubles, stars and glitter. Gold works well teamed with creams and neutrals as well as black. Introduce loads of new cushions and throws - its the time of year to be indoors and feel snuggly.
Golds and metallic shades will continue to be on trend through to next year.
White is also very fashionable this Christmas. White trees especially. If you have a generally white themed room, break it up a little by introducing textures such as fur, wool, glass or crystals. Pastel colours are also beautiful to avoid the starkness of too much white.
Be careful not to bee too fussy with your decorations - keep it elegant and themed.
Traditional colours always look good and are timeless. Red and Green are quite Scandinavian too. It's lovely to add homespun decorations to a red and green theme. You can also make the look more masculine by incorporating stags heads or other animal accessories. Green adds balance and a natural feel, whilst red is energetic and gives a lift.
