The Radio Verulam Film Guide: 8th May 2015

It's over, friends. The siege has finally been lifted. After 14 gruelling days and nights of being stuck in the studio with only Danny's Peruvian pan pipes to entertain them, Simon, Danny, Chris and Honor were starting to lose hope. Mayor Matthew Broderick and his cronies were camped outside, determined to get in for reasons known only to them. Police Academy star Steve Guttenberg spent the past week trying to headbutt the studio door down, but has only managed to make his face a little flatter.

Then last night, under the cover of darkness, help came in the form of one of the other regular Drive Time assistants. Sarah Hawkins, who is a Yellow Belt in Karate and has seen every Jet Li movie that he's made, had dressed up like Rambo and slowly taken out Broderick's goons, one-by-one. Soon only Broderick was left conscious, and Hawkins pulled him close and whispered something in his ear. What was said is not known, but it certainly had the desired effect, as Broderick picked himself up and did a runner without looking back. I don't think we've seen the last of that one though....

Ok, that was a lie, but Simon was in the studio to talk about the UK box office, new releases in the cinema and his pick of films on TV for the coming week.
