The Radio Verulam Film Guide: 1st May 2015

Day 7 of the 'Siege of Drive Time'

Seven days into the siege of the Radio Verulam studios by the despotic St Albans Mayor Matthew Broderick, and his lackeys, Steve Guttenberg and Fred Savage. Savage, who works as Chief of Police and a part-time Michael McIntyre impersonator, brought along the local police's water cannon, which they bought off the Stasi. The team were initially very worried as it rolled down the street, it's sirens blaring. Riding atop of it was a semi-naked Savage, clad in leather and paint, Mad Max-style, banging the metal roof with a steel pipe to make a terrifying sight.

The team braced themselves for the worst but when the machine was switched on it spluttered a bit, shuddered, and then broke down. Turns out that when you purchase a machine from a former Soviet secret police force, there is a good chance that it won't work. Still, they're a persistent bunch of psychopaths, so Guttenberg has been stood outside the studio door ever since, attempting to headbutt the door down.

Ok, that was a lie, but Simon was in the studio to talk about the UK box office, the new releases in the cinema, and his pick of films on TV for the coming week.
