The Radio Verulam Film Guide: 15th May 2015

After two weeks of being hold up in the studio the show was back to it's usual amateurish, sloppy ways. Honor decided that she needed a bit of break from being around Danny, Simon and Chris (as well as the unstable Mayor, Matthew Broderick, who had taken somewhat of a creepy shine to her). So in her place stepped Drive Time's Science correspondent Samantha Rolfe. A seasoned professional, Sam stepped into the studio assistant job with ease.

Firstly, when Simon had the first of his usual Friday afternoon diva tantrums (they occur at 4:06pm, 5:17pm, 5:19pm, 6:24pm and 6:30pm - 7:00pm) Sam stepped in and, with a combination self-assurance and swift, brutal violence that only a career in science can teach you, swiftly struck Simon around the cheek with a glass beaker that she carries with her in case of scientific emergency. Simon was shocked, as he was in the middle of setting a new personal record of 'longest time without being glassed'. He had made it a whole 9 days without someone hitting him and now Sam had ruined it. The shock was such that he actually presented the film guide in a relatively reasonable and knowledgeable way. Sadly, it's doubtful that the technique will work again, but Danny has promised to keep glassing him just in case.

Ok, that was a lie, but Simon was in the studio to talk about the UK box office, the new releases in the cinema, and his pick of films on free-to-air TV for the coming week.
