Chris' Film Club: Donnie Darko

The theme for the Film Club this week is that of films who have gone down as classics, but were financial or critical failures when they were released. The first such film is Donnie Darko, which made a little over $100,000 in it's first week in cinemas.

The film is about Donnie (Jake Gyllenhaal), a young man who sees a mysterious and monsterous rabbit figure named Frank, who predicts the end of the world in less than a month. The film is a strange and creepy little sci-fi, with a great cast that also includes Maggie Gyllenhall, Mary McDonnell, Jena Malone, Noah Wyle, Drew Barrymore and Patrick Swayze.
