Today Gwendoline was in the studio once again, this time to discuss the most important room in the house: the kitchen. She touched on the topics of design, spacing and practicality.
First of all she advised to know your space, for example if your room is L-shaped or long and narrow, because this will greatly affect what you're able to do with your kitchen. At the moment open plan kitchens are extremely popular, but in smaller space this may not be practical. Gwendoline also advised to try and have an equal space between things in your kitchen such as the fridge and the oven, because this will make working easier.
moving on to design and style, Gwendoline said it is important to not sacrifice practicality for stylishness, because this may make your beautiful kitchen a pain in the long run. She recommended durable floor tiles that will put up with a lot of wear and tear while still looking good, and storage cabinets that as useful as they are stylish. She said colour can bring vibrancy to a kitchen, but be careful not to overdo it and make the kitchen garish; also, lighting is essential to making a kitchen attractive, and good to use.
