Elizabeth Crampton, Consumer Advice Correspondent, on Pensions

Joining us in the drive-time studio today was Elizabeth Crampton of the 'Citizen's Advice Bureau' who spoke to us about pensions, and the recent announcement that you can now redeem your pension in its entirety, whenever you like.

Some have expressed concerns that people will not utilise this new feature responsibly and effectively, and others have claimed that it's a step in the right direction as we do not live under a 'Nanny State'.

Elizabeth then went on to speak briefly about maternity leave. She told us that maternity leave can now be shared between two partners, and the disparity between maternity and paternity leave will diminish. This Scandanavian-style policy has been described as a radical new change, and will allow much more flexibility when dealing with a new child.
