We started this week of westerns with a film starring the cowboy legend John Wayne and we're ending the week with the man that took his place as the actor who came to define the westerns genre: Clint Eastwood.
Eastwood is Josey Wales, a man whose wife is murdered by Unionists and he seeks revenge by joining the Confederacy. His squad are murdered in cold blood and he goes on the run with a ragtag band of other fugitives. Eastwood brought new life to the western when it seemed to be flagging, and Josey Wales is a great example of that new life.
