Chris' Film Club: Schindler's List

For the Film Club this week I have picked 'Steve Spielberg Films' as the theme, and so have decided to start with his harrowing 1993 classic Schindler's List.

The story of Oskar Schindler, a German businessman in Nazi Germany, who managed to save over 1,200 Jews from the Holocaust after hiring them to work in his factories. Liam Neeson is excellent as Schindler, but Ralph Fiennes almost steals the show as the cruel concentration camp commander (alliteration!) Amon Goeth.

Shot almost entirely in black and white, it is often emotionally devastating but required viewing.
