Chris' Film Club: In Bruges

To round off this week's theme of 'films with places in the title' I've gone for Martin McDonagh's 2008 dark comedy In Bruges. The film is about two Irish hitmen (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) who go to the Belgian city of Bruges under the orders of their psychotic boss Harry (Ralph Fiennes). The film gets a lot of humour from the relationship between the men and the city they find themselves in, as they both react in different ways. The film is, at points, exceptionally violent but is also brilliantly funny and full of great performances.
