This Thursday at Cafe Nes there will be a volunteer speed matching event from 4.30-6pm and 6.30-8pm.
The event is for young people aged between 16 and 19 who are perspective volunteers. A wide range of organisations such as Oxfam and Diabetes UK will be there to chat about the type of volunteer programs they have available and for you to ask as many questions as you please. The idea is to show the range of opportunities that are available and to steer away from the perception that volunteering is simply in a charity shop.
Volunteering can be great for young people as it helps set your CV or uni application apart from others. It helps you to gain experience in the work place and also to meet a wide range of people.
There will be reduced rate coffees, teas and milkshakes at the event and everyone who comes will be enter into a draw to win Nandos vouchers.
