Christmas Album Review with Jenny Carroll

Christmas brings out a lot of festive entertainment releases - one of the staples of this time of year is the Christmas album, which we look at today with Jenny.

First up is Rod Stewart's release 'Merry Xmas Baby'.  Rod seems to have carved out a second career as a modern-day crooner, with his American Songbook series and he continues in this vein with his latest effort.  It's standard Stewart fare but will please his long-term fans probably without garnering too many new ones.  Still, nice to have in the background to accompany the Christmas dinner.

The country trio Lady Antebellum have had a huge couple of years and their yuletide release sees them holding pace with their Gold-certified album 'On This Winter's Night'.  Probably a more interesting and more personalised effort, there is a mix of well-known and lesser-known tracks contained on this album.

Lastly, one of Lady Antebellum's contemporaries broke through this year with 5 awards at the Independent Country Music Association.  Jenn Bostic's track 'Jealous of the Angels', as RV listeners will know, has received regular airplay here; the album is known simply as 'Jealous'.  We're expecting big things in the new year from this artist.

Merry Christmas everyone!
