Local Tourism Feature with Charles Baker

Charles Baker popped in this week to tell us all about the local events happening over the next couple of months.


It's that time of year again! Charles told us when and where to find our local Christmas lights switch on.
 The St Albans Christmas lights are being switched on. From 11:00 till 18:00 on Sunday 18 November there will be a children's funfair, Santa's Grotto, a Christmas market and loads more. The actual lights will be switched on at 17:30 by the Pantomime stars from Aladdin.

The Harpenden Christmas Carnival and the switching on of the town's Christmas lights is to take place in Harpenden Town Centre on Sunday 25th November, the event which is held in conjunction with the monthly Farmers Market runs from 12 noon to 6.00pm. This is Followed by Southdown on Friday 30th November and then Batford will switch their lights on Sunday 2nd December. All of these will be at 5.30pm.

Wheathampstead Christmas lights are being switched on at Thursday 29th November 6-8pm. The High street is closing for the event but Charles told us East Lane will be open for parking.

Redbourn are having a Christmas market, it will take place on Sunday 2nd November from 11am. The event is to raise funds to buy Christmas lights for the High Street and Cumberland Gardens. There will be face painting, bouncy castle, stalls and much more.
