Local Tourism Feature with Charles Baker

Charles made his monthly visit to the studio to bring us up to speed on all the exciting goings on in St Albans.

   For those interested in English history and culture, you may be interested in the Heritage Open Days!(6th - 9th September.) It's completely free and it's being held in various parts in St Albans where you can get access to local historical sites which aren't normally open to the public. The Oaklands College Mansion built in the 18th Century is being opened to the public for the first time this Sunday.

  There's also a number of walks being organised for the the week including the very popular St Albans Giant Monopoly in which you choose from 2.5 mile and a 4.5 mile routes so you can take in local sites and attractions on this fun family day out.

      Charles also told us about this years St Albans Food & Drink Festival. This goes on from 25th September - 7th October. There's a number of tongue tantilising events in including a Risotto Making Class at Carluccios in Christophers Place. There's the Camra St Albans Beer Festival at the St Albans Arena and many many more festivities taking place. All showcasing the various cultures and flavours of St Albans.
