Torches, Fairs & Gatherings - Local Tourism Feature with Charles Baker

On Today's show, Charles Baker told us all about the Olympic Torch coming to St Albans this coming Sunday (8th July).  The Olympic Flame will enter the District along Hatfield Road at 4.06pm.  The Flame will be carried by Torchbearers along the length of Hatfield Road from its junction with Charlotte Close, crossing over St Peters Street into Catherine Street, along Folly Lane joining Verulam Road down towards Oysterfields. From here the Flame will be placed back inside the convoy as it travels into Hemel Hempstead via Bluehouse Hill and Hemel Hempstead Road.

This coming weekend also sees the Childwickbury Arts Fair take place from Friday 6th - Sunday 8th July.  Held inside the beautiful private grounds of Childwickbury Estate, St. Albans where you will find a vibrant mix of workshops, demonstrations and entertainment for all ages, a great day out for families.

The Childwickbury Arts Fair is a unique way to engage with artists in a relaxed and informal setting as well as an opportunity to view and buy their work.  Each evening there is a concert and on Friday evening, friends of the drivetime show Sinead & the Dawnbreakers will be appearing.  For more information, check out their website http://www.childwickbury-arts-fair.com/
