Steve Lindsay from the Prince's Trust

Steve Lindsay spoke to Danny about the work the Princes Trust does with young people in the county. Originally it set up 30 years ago to help young people to start their own businesses and although this still forms a big part of the work they do they now run a number of different programmes to help young people who are facing unemployment and other difficulties to improve their life chances. For example they offer one off grants to help young people pay for a college course to improve their skills.

Nationally the Princes Trust will aim to help 50,000 young people this year with about 500 of them in Hertfordshire.

They are also involved in the third annual Robs Festival of sports and music at Beaumont School which is in memory of Rob Williams who was a student there. The event will take place on Saturday 23rd of June and Steve has said he will come back on the show nearer the time to tell us more.
