Sarah Buckingham from Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust
This afternoon we were joined in the studio by Sarah Buckingham from the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. She was in to talk about National Nest Box Week (NNBW), which is designed to encourage people to put up nest boxes in their own gardens and also to get people thinking about how they treat the birds in their gardens. If you want to find out about how you build your own nest box then you can visit the NNBW website here.
Danny and Sarah also spoke about orchards and the project being undertaken at Tewin Orchard in which many trees are being planted and a greater variety of fruit is being produced. Tewin Orchard also provides nature fans with the chance to catch a glimpse of some of the mammals this country has to offer, with it's Mammal Hide. You can book a time to go view badgers, foxes deer and rabbits among others. For more information you can go directly to the Trust's website here.
Finally, Sarah spoke about Petition Fish, a campaign to get more of Britain's waters to be protected for marine wildlife. To sign the petition or get more information on the campaign you can visit the site here.
