Interior Design feature with Gwendoline Alderton of G.A. Interiors
Today on WHD we welcomed Gwendoline Alderton of G.A. Interiors and the topic this week was - The kitchen!
One of the big questions in kitchen planning is "where do I start?" - Gwendoline says to remember 'form before function'. Think what you will actually be doing in your kitchen. Will it be more multipurpose with a utility room, breakfast bar etc?
Think about the 'kitchen triangle' with each point of the triangle represented by sink, oven and fridge. The idea is to have the least possible space between them to make jobs easier in the kitchen.
Also think whether you want a traditional kitchen with lots of wood or a contemporary kitchen with granite worktops and high gloss units. Lighting is very important so think about 'task lighting' i.e. lights under worktops.
