Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust

This evening we were joined in the studio by Sarah Buckingham of the Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust, Sarah told us about the following things to look out for as spring approaches;

- Bumble Bees particularly Queen bees are becoming active now as they search for suitable sites to build nests, there are 24 species of bumble bee 6 of which are common in gardens. And did you know the bumble bee is the only pollenator of potato plants?

- Migrant birds are now returning from the continent so watch out for Chiff Chaffs, Swallows, House Martins, Cuckoss and Swifts.

The web site has a download available of things to do in spring - go and click on the link.

You can also track and add to the latest sightings of wildlife by emailing the Herts Natural History Society -
