World Book Night

This afternoon, we chatted to local author, Oscar Windsor-Smith from the Verulam Writer's Circle about World Book Night. This Saturday 5th March, one million books will be given away to members of the public across the UK and Ireland. 40,000 copies of 25 selected titles are being given away by 20,000 'givers', who will distribute 48 copies to whomever they choose on World Book Night.

Oscar is acting as one of these 'givers', and has been given 48 copies of Agent Zigzag by Ben Macintyre to give away! Agent Zigzag is the true story of World War II British agent, Eddie Chapman. It tells of his workings for the Germans and the English; a life full of amazing luck, daring and amorality.

Oscar will be giving out about 24 of his 48 copies at Waterstones bookshop between 6pm and 8pm. If you would like a copy, pop along to Waterstones this Saturday. The idea is that then these books will be passed on to others, so Oscar and Danny were discussing putting a date of reading on the inside, that then can be continued down the line.
