Get Fit and Give
This afternoon, we chatted to Carol Campbell from Get Fit and Give, a charity that encourages people to exercise whilst raising money for charity.
Carol set up the group in 2009 with a group of friends, keen to find a daily walking group to fit around her busy lifestyle! The group meets every day except Sunday, and currently consists of 6 regular members but people are just as welcome to dip in and out! There is no minimum or maximum age, although under 16s should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Carol says the walking is a 'leisurely stroll but at a good pace', and all the members have felt really positive benefits to their health and fitness over time! All you need is a pair of trainers/walking boots and £3 per walk. This £3 is donated to a charity which is picked every 3 months. In the past chosen charities have included Children in Need and Cancer Research.
