Petanque in the Park

Tonight we heard from Rosina over the phone, talking us through the French game of Petanque. First off she explained the rules of the game, which is a form of boules which involves three small metal balls being thrown rather than rolled towards a small wooden ball.

There are a number of Petanque clubs in the Chiltern Region, which includes St Albans all the way up to Milton Keynes.

This Saturday 7th August Rosina, who has been playing for 20 years, will be holding doubles Petanque games in Highfield Park, sponsered by International Labmate, who are aiming to encourage new people to give the game a try, and to promote interest in sport and the environment to all ages.

Saturday's games sound like a fun day out for all the family, and Rosina stressed that all ages are welcome, with no experience necessary.

If you are interested in attending you may simply turn up on the day, or call Rosina beforehand on 01462 625729.
