Today we heard from Althea Hayton who talked about the Womb Twin project and website she is involved in.
The project and website is all about people who are womb twin survivors. The group and website provides information and support for people affected by the loss of a twin before or around birth.
People who are womb twin survivors can need often support coming to terms with what's happened. Other feelings they may have include a feeling of abandonment, a sense of vulnerability and searching.
Althea also advised that a conference called 'Womb Twin Survivors' is planned for October 1st -3rd at All Saints Pastoral Centre, London Colney, Herts. This will be the third international conference to be held on this subject.
It will be a rare opportunity for everyone to learn more about a common occurrence in pregnancy that has been largely ignored - until very recently. It will be a chance for womb twin survivors, plus the people who live with them, work with them, try to help them or just want to learn more about them, to get together and discuss these issues. Only 60 places are available, so early booking is recommended.
